The Big Tech Giant Apple revealed it officially that they have sold 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This figure is just for the initial weekend after the launch. Hence it beats Apples previous record of selling 9 million iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in 2015 – 16. And if we even go further back in 2012 we will see that its double the sales they have made compared to 5 million sales for iPhone 5.
Market Analyst (Bernsteins Toni Sacconaghi) estimated that for iPhone 6/plus launch sales will come somewhere between seven to eight million on launch weekend. But other market researchers reported that it might limit to 10 million as there are limitations with respect to supply. If we look into the release markets around the world iPhone 6/plus has not been actually launched to all countries where initially iPhone 5 was. So basically Apple decided to launch it in few countries rather than full list of countries. One of the best example is China which is recently have become one of the biggest consumer of iPhones in last few years. Have a look into the sales graph of Apple phones in millions.
When you look into pre-order records of Apple sales you will see that Apple has already did a record setting of 4 million with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. If we go 2 years back we will see the pre-order record set by iPhone 5 was 2 million units. That is exactly half of what Apple has achieved this time. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the press release that sell through records for iPhone 6 generation has been exceeded by large margin. Well hello Mr Cook we can see that outside the Apple stores in London. What we would like to know what are you doing to increase the supply with respect to Demand.
The usual way of Apple when any new phones are announced is not mix of devices. But it seems like iPhone 6 is in much more demand then iPhone 6 Plus. From Value Walk article it seems like 38% people would like to buy iPhone 6 while only 28% people are interested in buying iPhone 6 Plus. Well whatever is the case we are looking forward to know how will iPhone 8 launch go.
